Perm, is, well how shall I put it, not the most touristic city. The Lonely Planet says Perm could easily be skipped by any tourist. Despite this, I grew strongly attached to this city. The people there have grown up and barely seen anywhere else and so they love it, and I developed a love for it too. But it takes time. Lots of communist concrete blocks and little typical tourist attractions.
The people of Perm are very friendly, but a bit warey to begin with. They are not used to foreigners (you will get stared at a LOT), and are perhaps a bit more reserved than they need to be as they are so keen to make a good impression of both Perm and Russia for you to take back to your country. Once they relax a bit more, they are so friendly and helpful. |
