Chose to stay here as it is a YHA and expected a certain standard of the place. Was very disappointed.
It said on the website that the hostel was totally refurbished in 2005 but the only thing that looked new in our 4 bed dorm($20pp) was the curtain rail! The hostel looks like it used to be a motel and the rooms aren't very comfortable at all. Air Con wasn't turned on till late and it was so stuffy during the day.
The staff were friendly enough but when we asked for toilet paper to be put into our room, it wasn't done when we returned. And the room wasn't cleaned after one of the other guests checked out. Also had to wait an hour to check in.
A guy checked into the room and we discussed how bad the place was and when we returned to the room, he had checked himself back out again!!
There are many other hostels in Darwin, I think I'd go somewhere else next time. Just very disappointed with it being a YHA.
