Carmel is an affluent town south of Monterey on the California coast. It enjoys a popular downtown filled with galleries, shops, and restaurants. Actor Clint Eastwood was once the mayor of Carmel. He used to own a restaurant, the Hogs Breath Inn, in downtown. Camel was one of the locations of the chain of Spanish missions that ran up through California. The 1700s Era Mission still stands and can be visited. Point Lobos State Reserve on Carmel's shoreline, offers spectacular ocean views and nice hikes in the coastal environment. |
