The joys of venturing too far off the beaten track

In and around Chiredzi

Chiredzi is an ideal place to base yourself if you are wanting to visit Gona Re Zhou Game reserve.
There are also many luxury safari lodges and private game reserves within a 50Km radius.
3 Country clubs offer some superb facilities at very reasonable rates, Golf courses, Squash Courts and many other sporting activities are on offer.

When To Travel

The best time of travel is during the winter months(May - August), as there is little or no rain during this period. Many places are inaccessable during the "rainy" season, also the grass is to long, so you wont see many animals, unless one decides to jump into the road as they often do.

Pros:Small Town = friendly people
Cons:Malaria, Very hot

Malaria Alert! Warnings Or Dangers (1)

Chiredzi is situated in the "Lowveld" and as such has a huge malaria problem, I had it a few times when I lived there... more travel advice

Small and simple Hotels (1)

This is the only "Hotel" in Chiredzi. It serves good meals and the service is excellent. more travel advice
