A little bit of history

My parents Luis & Celina are still living in this beautiful mediterranean city near the Andes Mountains. My brother Gerónimo and myself were born here and we can proudly say that we are a very tipical mix of what is Mendoza today: spaniards conquerors efforts to build a city in the middle of nowhere and italian efforts to plant vines and have the most reputed south american wines.

My father, Luis, comes from a very traditional mendocinian family that arrived and founded (with other 13 spaniards families) Mendoza city in the latest 16th. century. It has been 450 years that my family is in Mendoza!! My mother, Celina, comes from a typical italian immigrant family that arrived Mendoza at the beginning of the 20th. century. They were doing wine in the Emilia-Romagna region and they continued to do wine in Mendoza. I would say excellent wines!

In the last ten years, my parents dedicated all their time to start an excellent mendocinian little production of high quality wine in Medrano, Mendoza. My father, the winemaker, is now retired.

14 generations of Villanueva in Mendoza!! More than 450 years... 13 Villanueva governors ran the province... A long way!!!

Even though we presently do not live there, Mendoza, near the Andes, is our place in earth.
