"Scandinavia Trip" Oslo Region by bazoeker

Oslo lacked the pleasant and friendly atmosphere of Stockholm and Helsinki respectively, but it's ups as far as sights and museums are concerned. I spent two days there, but definitely needed at least another day just to see the main attractions. Some must-see attractions include the Munch Museum, Vigeland Park and the University Museums. The latter also provides pamphlets in English at each exhibit.

It was then time to tackle the fjords. I took the 'Norway in a Nutshell' package from Oslo to Bergen, which apparently is 'the most breathtaking journey in the world'.

The journey definitely did not disappoint. The view from the carriage window comprised nothing but ever changing scenery of green pastures, snow-capped mountains, fjords and pretty towns. But the highlight was the boat ride on the Sognefjord. Absolute beauty! And it wasn't even supposed to be the most breathtaking fjord in Norway (the title belongs to the Geirangerfjord). The journey continued with a bus ride to the Stalheim Turisthotell which sits snugly on top of a hill. The views across the valley was spectacular. The journey ends at Bergen, although I believe there are different options regarding start and end points.
