"Tamarack Ski Resort and Donnely, Idaho" Donnelly by Trailhead
Donnelly Travel Guide: 0 reviews and 1 photos
Tamarack opened again after years of being closed. The mountain was as great as I remember. The slopes felt empty and the powder was plentiful. I was there during Christmas and was pleased with the skiing. The mountain had limited operations and was only open from Thur-Sun, except for the holidays when they were open all week.
I hope the Tamarack has another year and makes it through the buy-out. It has the potential of being a wonderful resort. Until then, it is a great place to visit when visiting Idaho.
During the summer months, enjoy playing on the water at reservoir.
The town of Donnelly has a wonderful bakery and coffee shop on their main drag. McCall is just down the road to the north and Cascade to the South.
- Pros:2 hours from Boise; Beautiful mountain to ski; Great terrain; No crowds
- Cons:Uncertain future; Infrastructure; Finicky snowfall/melt
- In a nutshell:A gem near the shadows of Brundage
