The City Couple | Hubby and I @ Danau Bratan, Bali - Dec 2005 |
Born and bred in KL and married to another who is also born and bred in KL.
So, no need to "balik kampung" (return to hometown) during festive seasons where there is endless traffic jam every where. Back in the old days, I look forward to festive seasons as KL would be deserted and we'd use to say that we can "walk like a crab" (ie. walk sideways) due to the deserted roads after most people have gone balik kampung.
However, these days, many do not balik kampung and like most of my colleagues, they transfer their parents down to KL to live with them. So end of the balik kampung exodus for them. So, can no longer walk like a crab anymore during festive season. |

| | The Travel Bug My whole family really travel non-stop. My mum for one has been to most countries on earth.
So far, I've conquered most of South East Asia, lived in Melbourne for a while and is always on the lookout for interesting places to go. Next target is Tibet and is saving every penny plus budgeting hard for it. Hubby needs to go together as such places you'll only go once and try to cover as many kilometres/places as possible.
Luckily, hubby also likes to travel (but not as crazy as me) and we both like to visit ruins and mystical places, especially world heritage sites.
Went to Nepal alone with parents coz for two of us to go, it is really beyond our budget.
Keeping fingers crossed that Air Asia X would take off soon and make our travel dreams come true. Currently 90% of my trips were via Air Asia and it really lived up to its motto.
If not for Air Asia, I would not have been able to go to so many places and Bangkok for my annual shopping trip. Hubby says I am crazy going to Bangkok every year. |
| | Food, food and more food We both like to eat and will go to look for places to eat, no matter how far. Obvious from our body size, eh?
Last November (2006), drove all the way up to Penang for the weekend just to pig out. If any VTers from Malaysia knows of good places for food, please drop me a note. Went slightly over the speed limit and got a ticket for it via post in December (2006). So, cost of my Penang trip increased by the amount of the speed ticket - I paid up recently, not waiting for the infamous summons discount Malaysia has.
Hubby will also not think much at putting fried insects into his mouth during our trips abroad. I finally tried eating a fried silkworm during my trip last week (Jan 2007) to Chiang Mai and it tastes good. However, I think I will stop at that. Don't think I can stomach cockroaches, grasshoppers and etc, etc, etc. |
