Boston has a good selection of radio stations.
WEEI is a sports station
WRKO is news and current affairs.
Music stations include:
WXKS pop.
WJMN R&B and hip-hop.
WZLX classic rock.
WODS 'oldies'.
WROR hits of the '60s,'70s & '80s.
My favourite, the station I could listen to on a regular, rather than occasional, basis is WMJX 'magic' 106.7. I often tune in when I visit Boston and am pleased to discover I can listen online from the UK.
I generally listen to WMJX in the evenings online UK time, which means late afternoon/early evening Eastern Time. That means the excellent Dan Justin's 'drivetime' weekdays, with his 3-for-the-road 3-song request feature. Dan's well matched to Candy O'Terry, traffic news operative. Audrey Constant on Saturdays is the best female DJ I've heard on any station anywhere in the world.
The only trouble with listening online to most US stations is most commercials are edited out (the actors' union apparrently object to voiceover artists getting local radio pay for worldwide exposure), which spoils the experience a bit.
