"My Retirement Home?" Cameron Highlands by zuyao

I know I'm too young to even think about it. But I've always been tempted to make Cameron Highlands my retirement home. A nice English cottage with a fireplace with a nice farm where I can grow vegetables and roses! This is fantasy in Malaysia. With the hot temperatures in KL, you can't do that. But in Cameron, you can (unless the global warming stuff gets ahead of me!)

Cameron is a beautiful hill resort about 3-4 hours drive from KL. The place is famous for its tea plantation, vegetables, fruits, strawberries & flowers. One of the few places that you could get temperate climate, thousands of Malaysians flock to this place during holidays to escape the heat of the lowlands. There is still so much greenery and beauty here that this remains my favorite hill resort in Malaysia. And my dream of retiring to a cool place clinges on this resort!

Just imagine you spend a nice evening reading a book in the garden of my little cottage surrounded by roses & daisies. I plant my own cabbage and get bountiful harvest. I can enjoy a nice evening stroll down the street without sweating like a dog (if I were in KL!). I could have a nice steamboat dinner in the cold of the night. Then I can retire to my warm fireplace at night! This is life in Cameron.
