One Of The Best Places I've Visited I went down to New Orleans for a conference. Prior to that, I'd always thought that it might be fun to go, but never had any real interest.
Man am I glad the conference was down there! Not only was the weather perfect, but the people were more friendly than anywhere I've been to date. Besides that they've got the best food and most unique touristy things-to-do that I've seen in a while.
Congrats NOLA! I had you pegged wrong initially, but now you've got my heart! |

| | Round Two- July '08 We went back for round 2 in July, 2008. We went on a family vacation to Destin for a week and decided that we (my wife and I) would need an additional few days to ourselves before returning to the grind. So, we rented a car and drove the 5 hours to New Orleans.
I said during my last visit that NOLA was almost back and not much has changed. We had a taxi driver that showed us that there is still quite a lot of work to be done. Quite a few of the businesses between the Quarter and the airport are still closed up. |
