Africa in-miniature

Boarded between the Atlantc ocean and the foot of mount Cameroon the highest mountain in West and central Africa, is Limbe known as an opec city.Located in fako division in the south west province of Cameroon.
A beautiful town with many tourist attractions founded in 1858 by a British missionary called Alfred Saker during his missionary work to Cameroon.

Limbe formally known as Victoria, got its name from a small river called Limbe that takes its source from the mount Cameroon while running to empty itself at the atlantic ocean passing through many quarters in Limbe.The river Limbe also derives its name from a German architect called Limburg who constructed the bridge at the entrance to the town of Limbe. Thereafter, in 1983, a presidential decree desided to change the name of the town from Victoria to Limbe as it was formally called.

The Bakwerians, ethnies of the town has a unique culture different from what you can find in the rest of the 250 cultural groups in Cameroon. They have a God called EFASA MOTO living on the mountain (mount Cameroon).The mythe beleive , when the God is happy,its nourishes the land with good volcanic soil, fertile and suitable for cultivation. And when the God is angry, the mountain strembles and vormit out fire (volcanic eruption). An event that had occured over nine times since its history and had created many crater lakes on the mountain which attract a good number of tourist around the world to come and discover with their naked eyes.

Once at the Opec city, you can create time, spend time and enjoy the beauty of nature such as:
-the Limbe botanical garden with its rich and divers plants species, a center for recreation, education, relaxation, research etc;
-the Limbe wildlife center, a center for the rehabilitation and protection of some endangered animal species;
