Karachi is pretty terrible place to visit - it is extremely drab looking and very flat, with heaps of dust. If this is not enough to keep you away, there is plenty of terrorist activity to keep you on your toes. I was advised to stay inside my hotel most of the time, as it is quite common for people to be kidnapped and kept for ransom, especially if you are foreign looking. Everywhere you go, you will see lots of people carrying guns (big ones). As the largest city in Pakistan, it also appears to have it's fair share of poverty. This is a photo from the plane, and it does not look any better when you are up close. |
