"Morocco City" Marrakesh by TheLongTone

I don't think I get Marrekesh. Sure, I can see the attractions. The Djemma el Fnaa is a fantasic spectacle, especially at night. The souks are beguiling as well, although for serious shopping the quality is likely to be better in Fes, the centre of many of the Moroccan craft traditions. The minaret of the Koutoubia mosque is an architectural masterpiece, as are both the Ben Youssef medrassa and the Saadian tombs. The gardens, includind that adjacent to theKoutoubia mosque, are most pleasant and it's overall appearance beautiful, a low sprawl of orange/pink buildings strung out before the backdrop of the High Atlas . In all it's a beguiling enough place to spend a few days.
