Al Hajara is a fortified village perched on a hilltop a few kilometres from Manakhah. Mostly the village has noneed of a wall, being protected by the precipitous drop: there is a single gate carefully angled into the wall to make it harder to assault. The cluster of houses outside the main village, on the slope, are the old Jewish quarter. |
