Al Ghurfah as about seven or eight kilometres out of Sayun in the direction of Shibam. My eye was caught by the very beautiul mausoleum in the main photos so I took an early morning taxi there from Sayun to have a better look before the light got too strong for photography.
Al Ghurfah is built along the lower slope of the cliff bounding the wadi, bordering the road. Most of the more modern developement is to the east of the old centre of the village (towards Sayun) |
