What a great city with history! It's one of my favorite places.
Oktoberfest........need I say more????

“Ozapft is!” – “It's tapped!” exclaims Munich's Lord
Mayor after broaching the first keg of beer at noon, thus
officially inaugurating the world-famous Oktoberfest. For
eighteen days the citizens of Munich as well as hundreds
of thousands of visitors from all over the world will throng
to the fairgrounds, familiarly called the “Wiesn” (“meadow”)
at the foot of the Bavaria statue. The snazzy music
of the brass bands in the beer tents is just as much part of
the Oktoberfest atmosphere as the dizzy rides on the roller
coasters and merry-go-rounds, or the smell of roasted
almonds, turkish delight and gingerbread hearts. Truth to
tell, the Oktoberfest is not something one can describe, it
is an experience not to be missed! This year, for the 173rd
time, high spirits and joie de vivre will fill the air as everyone
cries out, “Let's go to the Oktoberfest!”
