La Place: Everything's fresh

Food is lovely in this place. It's fresh, delicious and there's plenty to choose from. They operate a buffet type of style self-service restaurant/cafe and serve warm main dishes (fish, meat or vegetarian), filled baquettes, warm paninis, salads, pizza slices, coffee, tea, fruit juices, smoothies and a wide range of other bakery products. In addition, there's a very good panoramic view from the top of the building over the town.

Favorite Dish: The salad buffet. You can choose what you want in your salad.

Annie's Verjaardag: Location, location, location

The food is not what attracts most people to Annie's, although they do serve light snacks, lunch & dinner. It's more the location really, as it provides a lovely spot in the sun. The restaurant itself is located in one of the cellars that have been built next to the river Rhine. They are actually almost on the water level. Annie's have a huge terrace next to the river, as well as on the floating platforms that are placed in the river itself. It gets very crowded and very loud (especially when the students are around). They also organise frequent events with live music or DJs. They have a huge celebration on Queen's Day (30 April) and the day before. (Beware! On this day, every single town and city in Holland go totally mental). On 17 August 2007 'Annie's Verjaardag' is going to celebrate the 20 years of its existence.
