Banff Townsite | Mt Alymer and Tunnel Mountain |
Nestled into a curve of the Bow River before it heads out the last valley to the Great Plains is Banff, the townsite. This small town is a bustling burough. Originally a train stop along the Canadian Pacifc Railroad (CPRR), Banff has grown into the southern entry to the Canadian Rockies.
The natural hot springs became an attraction luring travelors here for the medicinal values of the springs. Today, it is an all year resort with winter and summer activites drawing people all year.
