"I fell in love with Meknes" Meknes by cabeyp

This city gets overlooked or not the best reviews and I can't understand why.
The square comes to live at night and offers the feel of a mini Marrakech. the neighbouring streets are full of stalls for the locals and the souk is big enough to strol through without really getting too lost.
There is plenty to see in terms of Mosques, Medrasas etc. I just loved it. A very natural city. Calm and at ease with itself.
(Non of the over the top "chilled outness" you see in Chefchaouen or Essaouira)

• Pros:Only 30 mins from Fes by train
• In a nutshell:overlooked and underappreciated by many.
