How to describe this island. Describe shortly and simply?
I have the word 'TUNNEL' in my mind.
The tunnels of nature.
The pathways under the tunnels of trees and bush.
The tunnels of flowers on the mountain slopes.
Tunnels in the vineyards and banana plantations.
Tunnels of levada streams - between rocks, plants and lizards habitat.
Not enough...
Tunnels of mountains - valleys, canyons, rivers' bottoms.
Tunnels in the caves (Sao Vicente) and between the islets anchored picturesquely.
Finally tunnels done by people. Narrow streets of small towns, breathtaking car tunnels on the ancient roads and modern tunnels of highway. Many, many road tunnels...
And besides it many, many SUNdays. Do I need more to return there? For sure. No :)

Interesting tips !!!
Wow, you paint a very enticing picture of Madeira! As usual, all of your tips were fabulous but the wild Antiga road looks like something I would really love! Great food & customs tips too - mango & passion fruit are two of my all-time favourites.
love Seixal houses! wonderful page, i like your pages!
Fantastic tips! I am learning about such an amazing place that I don't know at all.Love your lizard tip! Laura
Hi, Your Madeira pics are very impressive and tips are very useful for my next trip there. I like Madeira and its nature very much. Have a good day. By the way, I liked krakow's architect and culture when I visited last November.
Have been in Madeira and Porto Santo long time ago. Is the landing at Madeira between mountain and sea still so risky? For "Dulle Griet" you have to travel to Antwerp.
I will read your page about Madeira. Happy you liked mine. Ciao
Very well written tips and outstanding photography!! Something you never find in a"travel to Madeira magazine" Top page!!
