Ciudad Bolívar and Orinoco river - Ciudad Bolívar

Thanks to the 'social media' Helen discovered a school friend from 40 years ago, now living in Ciudad Bolívar. That is why we decided to include Venezuela in our trip to Suriname and Costa Rica.

Our friend was very concerned for our safety, and told some horror stories! Yet, our impression is that safety in town has been improving.

We didn't go down to the pool below Salto Angel on my tour either, but I think it was too much water for that when I visited. Llovizna National Park looks nice too!
