Pondok village: bathing in a cave

The Javanese have always been resourceful in making the utmost of the resources nature provided them with. In Pondok village runs an underground river, functioning as the bathing place of the village.
You get here going further inland from the Terawang caves, past Sumberagung village.

Sendang Wangi water hole - Blora

Sendang Wangi water hole

Sendang Wangi: sulfurized water source

Sendang Wangi means: odorous water hole. The sulfur smell is not unpleasant though, not very strong. The hole is deep, over 2 m. The water is clear, you can see it stirring at the bottom.

Sendang Wangi is near Sumberagung village. Ask for it when you reach this village going inland from the Terawang caves.
