Purwodadi, bustling town

Purwodadi is a bustling town seldom visited by foreigners. As it lies 60 km east of Semarang and 60 km north of Solo, why should one go there? Indeed the town has little to offer to foreign tourists, but Grobogan regency - of which Purwodadi is the capital - has some interesting sites.

The main attraction of Grobogan District is the 'mud volcano' called Bledug Kuwu. Not really a volcano, yet a very peculiar natural phenomenon. The Bledug Kuwu site lies about 25 km or a 40 minutes drive east of Purwodadi, see our tips.
