When I was 10 someone gave me « El fill de la pluja d’or » a book that told the adventures of Perseus, son of Danae and Zeus. That book made me submerge myself into a wonderful world of heros, powerful gods, strange creatures and fantastic stories. Since then I spent many afternoons after the school in the small library of my city, I think I read all the books there related to Greek Mythology, History and Culture, the Iliad and the Odyssey included of course, and somehow I became a mini expert of the topic. While other children wanted to go to Disney World I dreamed about places like the Acropolis of Athens, Olympia or Delphos.
Later at the University I virtually revisited all those places and I could study them from a « more professional » point of view.
But it was not enough for me. . .

Or much better. . . ars lunga but vita brevis!! ;-) Sometimes the best things happen unexpectedly without doing lots of plans and in a few days I decided to take some days off and went to the airport without any reservation. Fortunately although the flight was full, the pilot was very kind and let me jump on the plane (of course I had bought biscuits for all the crew!). The following day, at 7:55 am I was in front of the gate waiting to be the first visitor of the day. It was a special moment for me and I did not want to be between a flock of tourists-sheeps.
