Let's watch the flowers grow

by Elisabcn - last update: Nov 10, 2009

Simple things are beautiful

'Nothing is lost if one has the courage to proclaim that all is lost and must begin anew'
(Julio Cortázar)

A little suitcase, my red notebook, a good book (Neruda for example) and nothing else.
After a whole year hold to the geography I am leaving again

SOMETHING ABOUT ME

-Benvinguts!. But let me start with a big "Bonjour!!" as my life, aujourd'hui, is in French
-Elisa, Eli, Elitxo, Elyssa, Elise, إليزا . . . I answer to all these names and more.
-I'm from Barcelona, in Catalunya. But my curiosity (for new places, new cultures, people . . .) is bigger than my love for this city, so I am always happy to leave. Sometimes there is a reason to leave, sometimes not. Sometimes there is a clear destination, sometimes not.
-I am a people watcher
-I would like to visit all the countries so I still have a lot of work to do . . . :-)
-I would like to visit all the Unesco places, you can see my advances on my travelogue
-I have noticed that more and more my English is getting worse. Sorry :-(
-Don't take my writings or comments seriously. What can you expect from a smiling blue face with red eyes? I am here only for fun
-I think life is like a house with lots of windows . . . I want to open as many windows as I can

You will always be welcome to my house

A travel motto?!

Caminante, son tus huellas
el camino y nada más;
caminante, no hay camino,
se hace camino al andar.

Al andar se hace camino
y al volver la vista atrás
se ve la senda que nunca
se ha de volver a pisar.
Caminante, no hay camino
sino estelas en el mar…

Todo pasa y todo queda,
pero lo nuestro es pasar,
pasar haciendo caminos,
caminos sobre el mar.

Antonio Machado

Let me entertain you . . .

Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end; then stop.

I am currently working on my Paris and Ile de France pages. They are long term projects, written bit by bit after my random walks so it will take me some months to finish them. However you should find something interesting for your trips in the area already. Or not.
I will add more tips on my Catalunya page soon. Visit Catalunya with me, it is very beautiful!!!
No more pages in mind for the moment, I prefer to spend my free time travelling than writing about travels :-)

Other pages on my virtual space are:
-Tunisia: 140 tips, 341 pictures and lots of experiences :-))
-El Valle Sagrado (Peru): 15 tips, 30 pictures and a dream come true :-) :-) :-)
-Bastides, black virgins, mountains during my Cathar Route: 12 tips, 18 pictures for the moment :-D
-Colorful Mali, my first trip to black Africa
-A page about Samarqand, maybe my favourite page :-)
-A off the beaten path place in a off the beaten path country: Shakrisabz, Timur's village, in Uzbekistan
-And let's visit for a while my country and the beautiful city of Tarragona. Catalunya is much more than Barcelona.
-Do you know the smiling village of Zaghouan, in Tunisia? Mountains in Tunisia are very beautiful :-)
-Another Tunisian page finished, Kairouan, which will be during all 2009 the World Capital of Islamic Culture
-Have you ever heard about the "City of the Infinite"? This is my small vt contribution to India about a real "off the beaten path place"

Touch the trees and step on the grass; And listen to the stones! Las piedras hablan . . .

. . . and encourage you

Les uns, joyeux de fuir une patrie infâme ;

D’espace et de lumière et de cieux embrasés ;

From Le Voyage (Charles Baudelaire)

BEST MOMENTS, BEST MEMORIES

"Perché nulla è il bello, se non l’emergenza
del tremendo: forse possiamo reggerlo ancora,
ed ammirarlo anche, perché indifferente
non degna distruggerci." (R.M. Rilke)

-First time I saw Sorrento (Italy)
-Reach the Puerta del Sol -Macchu Pichu- at dawn after 4 days of Inka Trail (Perú)
-Night under the stars on the shore of Titicaca Lake (Bolivia)
-The vitrails of Chagall inside Reims Cathedral (France)
-Delphi and its panorama (Greece)
-Cross the Siq and reach the Treasure (Petra)
-See Khiva for the first time under the light of the moon (Uzbekistan)
-Light and colors of the Mediterranean Tunis (Tunisia)
-Medieval paintings of Boyana Church (Bulgaria)

And finally . . .

'But I don't want to go among mad people,' said Alice.
'Oh, you can't help that,' said the cat. 'We're all mad here.'

So:
BE who you ARE
and SAY what YOU feel,
because THOSE who mind DON'T matter,
and THOSE who matter DON'T mind . . .

Hola ma belle! Yes, do come back and take a look around my Quebec City page - if there's enough stuff you like, maybe I can convince you to spend some time here like Cécile did!

Thank you Elisa for visiting my Mont Saint Michel Travel Page! I know I should pay another visit to this amazing place now that most of the work to make it an island, like it was centuries ago, have been done.
