"Olaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!" Elisabcn's Profile

"Nothing is lost if one has the courage to proclaim that all is lost and must begin anew"
(Julio Cortázar)

A little suitcase, my red notebook, a good book (Neruda for example) and nothing else.
After a year and a half hold to the geography I am leaving again!

16/11/2010: Unesco declares the "CASTELLERS" as World Heritage! So happy! :-) :-) :-)

-Elisa, Eli, Elitxo, Elyssa, Elise, إليزا . . . I answer to all these names and more.
-I'm from Barcelona, in Catalunya. But my curiosity is bigger than my love for this city, so I am always happy to leave. Sometimes there is a reason to leave, sometimes not. Sometimes there is a clear destination, sometimes not.

Apart from this I never found the need to write a HP or a Travelogue about "I, me and myself". And talking about my interests, diplomas or how many languages I can speak won't make me more interesting or fascinating. Maybe you can try to know me through my tips and pics. Or not.

-I think life is like a house with lots of windows . . . I want to open as many windows as I can

You will always be welcome to my house

A travel motto?!

Caminante, son tus huellas
el camino y nada más;
caminante, no hay camino,
se hace camino al andar.

Al andar se hace camino
y al volver la vista atrás
se ve la senda que nunca
se ha de volver a pisar.
Caminante, no hay camino
sino estelas en el mar…

Todo pasa y todo queda,
pero lo nuestro es pasar,
pasar haciendo caminos,
caminos sobre el mar.

Antonio Machado

Let me entertain you . . .

Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end; then stop.

My newest pages are:
Amazing Ethiopia, just finished!
Titicaca Lake, in Peru and Bolivia
I completed my Jordan page few weeks ago.
Paris where I have added some more tips.
Besalú, a medieval village in deep Catalunya.
Some pages about my Ethiopian trip are already online too. Maybe you want to visit Gonder (Ethiopia), the Camelot of Africa? Or explore the blue Nile's falls at Bahir Dar. . . (Ethiopia).

I have also added some tips on my Catalunya page and there are more tips to come. Visit Catalunya with me, it is very beautiful!!!

Other pages on my virtual space are:
-Bastides, black virgins, mountains during my Cathar Route: a special page for me with 12 tips, 18 pictures for the moment :-D
-Colorful Mali, my first trip to black Africa
-A page about Samarqand, maybe my favourite page :-)
-A off the beaten path place in a off the beaten path country: Shakrisabz, Timur's village, in Uzbekistan
-And let's visit for a while los Andes and el Valle Sagrado. It was nice to spend some days between the Incas.
-Have you ever heard about the "City of the Infinite"? This is my small vt contribution to India about a real "off the beaten path place"

Touch the trees and step on the grass; And listen to the stones! Las piedras hablan . . .

. . . and encourage you

Les uns, joyeux de fuir une patrie infâme ;

D’espace et de lumière et de cieux embrasés ;

From Le Voyage (Charles Baudelaire)

Trips in 2010

"El límite es el verdadero
protagonista del espacio,
como el presente, otro
límite, es el verdadero protagonista del tiempo".
(Eduardo Chillida)

And finally . . .

'But I don't want to go among mad people,' said Alice.
'Oh, you can't help that,' said the cat. 'We're all mad here.'

BE who you ARE
and SAY what YOU feel,
because THOSE who mind DON'T matter,
and THOSE who matter DON'T mind . . .
