The Cai Rang Floating Market This is the biggest floating market in the Mekong Delta. You need to get here early for the best photos.
We came here as part of a 2 day, 1 night trip from Saigon, staying overnight in Can Tho.
Don't leave Ho Chi Minh City without coming and seeing the Mekong Delta. Even if it's just for a day. The Delta is a region of waterways formed by the Mekong covering over 60,000 klm's. There are bright green rice paddies, fruit orchards, sugarcane fields, vegie gardens and fish farms.
You will need to get out to see the main waterways and all of the smaller canals by boat. This is just such a fascinating glimpse into the way of life that has been here for hundreds of years. You will cruise past stilt houses, people living on houseboats and see how they trade goods from boat to boat. |
