After the colour & excitment of the south, we found Hanoi to be a little dreary.
We only spent one day here sight-seeing. We found the locals to be very cold and unhelpful.
I guess I had a picture in my head of what the old quarter etc would be like and in reality it didn't quite live up to my expectations.

It seems our Ha Noi experiences were totally different..I totally enjoyed my time here but had a few extra days to "settle In" compared to you.Thanks for dropping by Ieper pages.balhannah has an interesting Gallipoli page btw!!

Hi Betty, We were a little disappointed with Vietnam in 2008. We did not visit Hanoi, and I will now give it a miss.

I was to Hanoi this year, didn't like it either :( there was too much overpricing and was glad to leave it after one night; probably won't go back there

We didnt really like Hanoi either, but we were only realy here for a few days and only as a stop-off point for Halong Bay so we didnt get to see much of the city.
