Vietnam's premier sea-side town

There is something for everyone here in Nha Trang. A relaxing holiday atmosphere, offshore islands to be explored as well as plenty of partying to be done. On the other hand, a booming fishing industry and some amazing Cham ruins, Buddhist pagodas and some very special views.
The venue for the Miss Universe contest in July 2008.

The name Nha Trang is thought to be derived from the Cham word "yakram", meaning bamboo river,

The light here seems to have a radiant quality-amatuer photos turn out quite amazing.

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:Plenty of things to do & places to eat & drink
  • Cons:Sadly, will most likely become over-developed and lose it's charm

Glad you enjoyed your visit to Nha Trang. I went there with one of my sons in 1995 and he liked it so much that he stayed there at the beach for a few days while I went up to Hanoi and back on the train.

Was your son disappointed he missed out on being in Nha Trang for the Miss Universe contest!??? Opening pic looks magical, a bit like the beach at Hoian. The Island boat trip looks great.

Your trip sounds and looks a lot better than the one I did. We had a very old boat, with 50 people on it, too many, we were squashed in, and at meal time not enough room for everybody.
