Oulu and surrounding area In 1995 I joined Nokia in the USA, just as they started operations here. I was the 67th American employee hired and worked with Nokia for five years. I traveled many places with Nokia. My second manager in the US was from Oulu. When his workers VISA expired, he invited me for a six month opportunity to work at the Nokia Research Center in Oulu. I took the offer without hesitation and enjoyed my stay in Oulu.
