This statue is in the cathedral near the choir, so look up when you enter and walking around!

Palais Schrottenberg

From what I found on the internet and sign on the building:

Built over 300 years ago for the home of a wealthy merchant, Phillip Dietrich von Schrottenberg, and having had many changes of use. Now it is a very comfortable hotel right in the heart of beautiful Bamberg. There are 13 rooms of varying size and the nightly rate is from 100 to 140 euros, including breakfast.

The Eltman

The Eltman refer to the hill that this old castle rests upon. It is a hike from the cathedral and my cousin wanted to show me so much, we skipped the Eltman.

Sculpture you won't see for a long time

These statues and supporting members the fourth tower. Most people will never see the sculpture as I was and I regret not taking more pictures.

A Master Stone Carver to the Dom

This man was nice enough to take me up the fourth spire being renovated. He told me an interesting fact. There are four spires on the Dom and it takes 30 years to complete renovations on one spire. The spire we ascended was the fourth and when completed will end the first 120 year cycle of renovations. Then the team will start work on the first spire to keep up appearances. The stone used for the Dom is sandstone. More pictures coming!
