If you can afford it, I would highly recommend this hotel. This is one of my favourite hotels - My hubby and I held our wedding dinner at their ballroom and the Grand Duplex Suite was thrown in as part of the package. Needless to say, since they're 5 star, the Grand Hyatt Singapore is up there with your Four Seasons, Ritz Carlton in every way. Everything about this hotel is modern and chic. With great service, excellent food and rooms fit for the fashionistas, this is the perfect hotel. I was 'blown away' when I stayed here (then again, you must know that I spent heaps, and of course expected what I paid for). It's located right in the heart of Orchard Road, where all the shopping and buzz is. Note: As with most cities, you'll probably never go wrong with the 5 star hotels. But other than the Grand Hyatt, which I absolutely adore, the rest of the hotels I plan to recommend are the hip and more affordable ones.
Unique Qualities: The hotel was renovated beginning of 2005, to update all its amenities and it was given a swanky new outlook. Everything themed to black and glass and revolves around a modern chic look. And yet, the pool is amazing - tucked amidst a gorgeous landscape. If you sit by the pool, you won't believe you're in the heart of the city. The gym, also called Club Oasis has an extensive range of fitness equipment every modern gym should offer. The Mezza9 - an upmarket classy - restaurant offers one of the city's best (Not cheap though). My favourite's the Mezza9 Bar - my recommendation: try the Chocolate Bunny (a heavenly concoction of Bailey, Kailua, Creme de Cocoa & milk). The other popular eating haunt at the Grand Hyatt - among locals who don't mind paying - is the Straits Kitchen, offering up the best of Singapore cuisine (buffet) at a very reasonable price in the perfect modern chic setting (SIN$38).

The Sentosa Resort And Spa is a premier hotel tucked away on Sentosa and away from the hustle and bustle of the city. After a day of sightseeing and shopping, this is the place you'll want to be. It's considered a 5-star resort, so do expect the standard 5-star rates. Nevertheless if you don't mind spending the dough on your accommodation, this hotel is well worth the holiday investment. You'll be surrounded by lush greenery and a beautiful view of the ocean - Not many hotels offer that in Singapore. And as its name goes, it also offers a world-class spa - Spa Botanica. Imagine being pampered, with a massage and soaking in their float pools. You can op for their various packages, including the ones for golfing (at the Sentosa Golf and Country Club) and spa. I'll highly recommend this place for the discerning tourists who's willing to spend on accommodation. Personally, my take is (if you can) try this hotel for 2 nights - it feels like you're in Bali and not in Singapore city - and then another 2 nights in a city hotel. You'll feel like you're in a totally different place. Plus, other travelling essentials on transportation and food are relatively cheap/affordable in Singapore, so it might just work out for you.
