The zoo which opened in 1974 has made many upgrades since then and they have several exciting exhibits. My favorite are when they have baby animals, becuase they are so cute! Make sure to bring weather appropriate clothes and gear, as the parking lot is enormous and the Zoo itself is even bigger, so you don't want to be making trips back to the car for your coat/hat/rain jacket. Also wear comfortable shoes as there is a lot of walking involved!

The Science Centre has much to offer ranging from traditional exhibits, hands on exhibits and an OMNIMAX theathre. Exhibit range from human body, psychology, ecology, geophysics, astronomy, engineering, mathmatics, and more. It is a great place to let kids explore and learn at the same time. The best part is the Rainforest exhibit, so don't miss it!

If the day is clear, do go up to the top of the CN Tower, you can get a great view of the city. Worlds Highest freestanding structure (at least for a little while still)! ie. great view! There also other attractions there like laser tag and such. Plus there is a restaurant that revolves so you can have great views and see it all without getting out of your seat. Another cool thing is the glass floor, it is super thick, so it is very safe, but still a bit nerveracking for the first minute or 2! And twice a year you get the opportunity to climb the stairs to the top for charity (in April for WWF!), it's a great cause to come on out and challange yourself! And as a bonus you get up the tower for free (instead of $16 or so for the elevator up) and you do get the take the elevator down! I did this in 1999 and it was really fun, I was very proud that I made it all the way up in less than 25 minutes. If I can do it so can you!

On a rainy or cold day go to the Royal Ontario Museum, you can spend two or three days just admiring the wide range of exhibits. Unbelievable collection of artifacts presented in a very appealing manner. Also they often have travelling collections from other museums. Currently they are reconstructing the museum and much of the collection that is regularly displayed is unavailable.

High Park is the largest park in the city and one of the largest city parks in the world. Much like Manhattan's Central Park, it has walking/hiking routes, playgrounds, playing fields, flower gardens and greenhouses, restaurants, a pond, a zoo, and well just lots to see and do. If you are visiting in the summer months (July-August) Shakespeare in the Park is a great activity to make your trip to High Park complete. Every summer on Tues-Sat night at 8 pm you can see a selected Shakesperian play at the ampitheater under the starlight sky. If the weather is good this is a great thing to do to get fresh air and see some reasonably cheap theathre. Suggested price is $15 (pay what you can). 2004 play is "As you like it"

If you have kids, Black Creek Pioneer Village is a great place for them to learn the history of the area. It is a village meant to simulate life in Upper Canada before Confederation. There are many staff dressed in period costume who can make the experience very real. They also have many special events for holidays, such as Thanksgiving, Halloween, Christmas and Easter.

A quick walk though of the beginnings of the military in the area. The site was of its main importance during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. On holidays they often have reanactments of battles.

The cars are the fastest ones you will see in Toronto! Don't blink! It took me a few tries to get this shot and the car is still blurry.
