Restaurant Name: By the Way Cafe
Friendly service, wonderful atmosphere and they have Prix Fixe (you get any appetizer, entre, and dessert for one price, about $20). In the summer enjoy the patio and in the winter come early because the restaurant is very small. They have great desserts also (I think that they are from Dufflet).
Favorite Dish: It's all great!

Restaurant Name: Spring Rolls
Very good food and large portions (take half home for another meal) for a reasonable price and has a nice atmosphere. Service is also usually fairly fast. A great place to go for a quick lunch with friends or a romantic dinner for 2 (upstairs only)

Restaurant Name: Mata Hari Grill
Nice atmosphere it is slighly more expensive than some other restaurants on Baldwin St., but it is one of the best. They offer Malaysian and Indonesian food. Lunch is very affordable and the patio is a nice place to eat in the summer. A funny thing is that the daily specials have been the same for nearly 10 years, so don't worry if you can't decide come back another time for the "specials".

Restaurant Name: Cafe la Gaffe
Cutest little restaurant with a great back patio! The kitchen is in the middle so from the front you have a view of the cooking action. Service can be slow for large groups, but it is worth the wait. Unlike Mata Hari, the specials do change daily and they are always good. Pizza' s are large enough for 2.
Favorite Dish: Avacado sandwich!

Restaurant Name: Teatro
It is a very small restaurant where I have seen them filming movies several times, so it is a place to see and be seen. From where you are sitting you can watch the chefs in action in the kitchen. The food is heavenly (but so are prices, starting at near $20 for an entree)!
Favorite Dish: Duck Meatloaf with garlic mashed potates in a maple syrup sauce!

Restaurant Name: Al Frisco's
The food is kind of like California Italian and the decor is made to match that flavor. There is a nice patio in the summer, but on nice evenings demand is high. Also have a back terrace which is more quiet.

Buffet was the best, but they have gotten rid of it again I hear. I think that they loose too much money when hungry students go there!

Restaurant is small and in winter can be drafty. Has a decent front patio in summer. In general it is take it or leave it, there are many better restaurants steps away (Caffe la Gaffe is next door!)

This is a classic dinner and greasy spoon. If you have a 2 am grease craving this is a great place. It isn't really my taste, but it isn't completely awful.

The place has a McDonald's type feel, but the food is decent and fast. Prices are fair and portions are good. In general it is good for a quick bite, but if you are looking for something a bit nicer, go to Spring Rolls.
