korakoen
don't miss Korakoen, one of the 3 largest garden in Japan.
Admission fee 300 yen for adult.
Open daily until 6 pm, in summer until 9 pm (lighting).
Directions: from Okayama station use tram direction Korakoen, stop in front of Symphony Hall bld, and walk about 10 min.
Uraja dance
Every summer, usually in the beginning of August, in Okayama city there is Momotaro festival.
It is start with firework, followed by dances competetion (caled Uraja dance) for the next 2 days.
Directions: The place for the festival is aroud Okayama station and in front of Itoyokado mall.
After sakura fall
Beautiful park, especially when cherry blossom festival (sakura). One week after sakura fall, the ground of this park will be pink. It is very beautifull.
Opening hours: 9.00-16.00 (close every tuesday).
Entrance fee: 300 yen adult, 120 yen child.
Directions: From Okayama station by bus 15-20 min, stop in front of Handayama entrance gate.

RSK rose garden-1
There are thousand rose from several types and several places in the world. It is very good park for pleasure.
From the website, you can see the flower blooming (update everyday).
Opening hour: 9.30-17.00, closed every wed. Entrance fee 600 yen for adult, 300 yen for junior & senior high school student, 200 yen for child above 3 years old.
Directions: From Okayama station, take bus to the RSK 'bara-en' rose garden (300 or 400 yen), then walk about 5 min.

Okayama castle
Just a little walk from Korakoen. Entrance fee is about 300 yen (I'm not sure because it is free for foreign student). Inside the castle you can try to use 'kimono' the japanese traditional cloth, free-no charge, but only 5 people in every hour until 4 pm. If at that hour there are 5 people already, you must register for the next hour. You also can take your picture using kimono freelly in that area.
Directions: 5 minutes walk from Korakoen.
