Not as urban as Albuquerque, not as trendy as Santa Fe, Farmington is a good place to see how the three prominent cultures of New Mexico (Anglo, Hispanic, Native American) really interact. Don't forget to see neighboring areas in Colorado, Utah and Arizona.
