Bayern--where my husband grew up....

This page is under construction. Meanwhile, enjoy some eye candy from Bavaria!

The Wieskirche--the full name is the Pilgrimage Church of the Scourged Saviour (Wallfahrtskirche zum Gegei├čelten Heiland auf der Wies in German)--is widely acknowledged as the most beautiful rococo church in Bavaria and, quite possibly, in the entire world. The church has been a UNESCO world heritage site since 1983. I can recommend the little restaurant there too--great German food and not too expensive. For more pictures of this exquisite church, check my personal album.

Fussen is a picturesque town of the border of Germany and Austria. We encountered a chimney sweep in his traditional dress with his tools in a side street. Unfortunately, the picture I got of him didn't come out that well--I was too far away for the details to show. But I did capture these oddly dressed folk. I believe they were actually filming a movie or video of some kind as folks don't dress like that in Fussen!
