I was born and raised in central Alberta and didn't do much traveling when I was growing up. I traveled around in my province of Alberta and the neighboring province of British Columbia with my parents when I was younger and with my husband as I got older. I didn't set foot on an airplane until I was 22, to go to Montreal and Quebec City for my honeymoon. When I was 23, I went to Europe for the first time. Something came over me, and now I can't stop. Wanderlust has taken over my life. I find myself thinking about places I could go and things I could see all the time, and wondering if I have enough space on the calendar to do it. It seems as though I'm always thinking about where I've been and returning to those places I love, but more importantly, seeing all of the places I haven't seen yet!
Since 2008 I've visited Europe seven times, Cuba twice, China, Morocco, the Caribbean, and made many trips to the USA. On my 25th birthday, I set a goal for myself to visit (at least) 30 countries by the time I turn 30 in May 2015. So far I've been to 25!
VT has certainly made a big impression on me. People have written so many wonderful pages that inspire me to travel, and I hope my pages can inspire a few people, too! Who knows where the future will take us all. Maybe one day our paths will cross, whether on VT or in person!
I love collecting postcards :) I've been collecting them for as long as I can recall. It would be awesome to receive a postcard from every country (preferably mailed from that country), but that is not my goal. I really just love getting things in the mail and maybe making new friends along the way. It's a nice way to see glimpses of the world, some popular, some out of the way, that I might not ever get a chance to see. If you would like one from me, I would be happy to send one.
