"1 Week at Nissei" Komoro by wolbbg

In Oct '99, I visited the headquarters of Nissei ASB for ~1 week. They are located in Komoro-shi, in Nagano prefecture. Komoro is about an hour or so from the former Winter Olympics site at Nagano. It was pretty weird seeing the slopes sans snow. Komoro is also near Ueda (sp?), home of Nissei's competitor Aoki.

I was dining out at so many different places I lost track of the good & the bad. However, It is fair to say that I enjoyed the Chinese entrees far better than the Japanese ones.

People ask me what I thought of Japan, since I spent a week there. It's really not fair for me to say much since I flew in to Narita, hopped on the train, and then spent the entire week in the "boonies". Thus, I've left no review for Tokyo.

• Pros:friendly folks; nice architecture/landscapes
• Cons:crowded; lots of _real_ Japanese food :)
