Rome is one of the best cities I've ever visited. Once you get used to the unusual opening hours and booking arrangements you can relax and enjoy. I arrived in late September and the first few days the weather was fantastic, however, on the Monday (yes, the one day we'd arranged to go to the beach!) the heavens opened... It even made the Italian news, the rain was that heavy! We decided against the beach and toured some more churches (more of those later), and were amazed to watch great lakes of puddles growing before our eyes... You don't get rain like that in Halifax I'm telling you :o)
