Home sweet home

by BlueBeth - last update: Apr 29, 2008

I have been blessed (or is that cursed?!) with being a Manchester City fan. I've been one for ages and no I'm not old enough to remember the glory days! I was a season ticket holder at Maine Road but have yet to attend a game at the City of Manchester stadium... Shocking I know, but a mortgage and 2 kids far outweigh the expense.
Speaking of, my kids are both Toffees (Everton fans for the uninitiated) and I lay the blame entirely on my younger sister's bribery! and my boyfriend is a Bolton fan so there are a few times a season where we just agree to disagree (loudly!)...

My travels...

...are not extensive, (yet!) but my eating out is! We eat out quite often so if you're looking for a culinary tour of the North of England then might find some hints here.
My desk is 6 windows from the left, 2nd floor...

Work

It has to be done! I actually quite like my job, and the company that I work for is great! They've taken me away to Prague, Disneyland Paris, Cardiff, London, Leicester, Manchester, Bolton, Leeds...
The photo is my office building, it's quite an unusual building and was officially opened by the Queen no less!
Note the environmentally friendly windmills...

A Bit about me...

I work for a very big bank that has two branches in the town and at least four major HO sites here. I'm one of the lucky people who actually enjoy their job and look forward to going to work!

I have two beautiful sons who live with their dad and I get to see them every weekend. They're both now at high school (which makes me feel really old!!!) and seem to enjoy their studies (which is a bonus!).

I'm also lucky enough to have finally worked out that one of my best friends is actually the guy I want to spend the rest of my life with. He would probably say about time too as he'd known for ages!!!

One thing you'll not find on here are many (or any at the moment) pictures of me. I hate having my picture taken and don't believe anyone has one decent picture of me at all!

Likes...

First off...my boys... My sons are amazing and my boyfriend is wonderful! I love all three of them to bits and there isn't enough room in cyberspace to say how much :-)

I think we've probably established that I like food... I like to try new food and love to find new ways to cook old favourites.

Football, I've been watching football since I was about four. I also did some coaching when my boys were younger, good fun but not for the unfit (like me!).

Music, I love going to gigs. Snow Patrol are excellent live, and Corinne Bailey Rae was great too! Razorlight next, then Travis, then the Wireless Festival in Leeds and then Genesis. Update-Razorlight rocked and Travis were brilliant... Also booked for this year, Stereophonics and Natasha Bedingfield... Ok I never said I was consistent!

Reading, I currently read about two books a month, although I've been reading House of Leaves for most of last year (oddest book I've ever picked up!)

Sudoku, hooked I'm afraid... Although I think I've got it down to 2 puzzles a day now... Or four when work's not so busy!!!

Dislikes...

Flying... For someone who loves to travel this is a bit of a problem! My boyfriend is very understanding about the fingernail marks in his arm/leg after each flight.

Moths... absolutely phobic about them.

Tights with open toe shoes... What's that all about?

Heights...see above comment on moths.
