Adams Morgan - A Great Place to Be When I moved to Washington DC in June 2003, I had never heard of Adams Morgan. I blindly signed a lease for an apartment in this neighborhood and crossed my fingers. No regrets! Adams Morgan is, arguably, the most vibrant neighborhood in Washington DC. With a plethora of restaurants, bars, and cafes, combined with easy access to downtown, and a facinating history, Adams Morgan is my favorite area in DC. Named because it was the site of the first racially integrated primary schools in Washington DC - Adams Elementary and Morgan Elementary, Adams Morgan is famous for the unique paintings painted on the side of many of its buildings. Madam's Organ - an infamous bar on 18th Street - is pictured here. Their rather appropriate slogan is "Where the Beautiful People Go to Get Ugly." Madams Organ is one of Adam's Morgan's most exciting bars. |
