The medieval castle of Gyula | The castle under renovation(2004) |
I went 2 times to Gyula: in june 2004 and than I returned tere in august 2005. I was very unfortunate with the photos: I almost erased them all by mistake in 2006 with others (Székesfehérvár, Sárospatak and others...). some of them have survived: by a miracle I had fortunately copied them to another folder. I`ve found these photos only half an hour ago when I pulished my winchester. The first one represents the Gyula Castle in 2004, still under renovation...--> |

| | The castle and the environment -->while the other photo was taken in 2005 with another camera, when all was already done. This not really big castle hosts a theatre wich is a real tourist attraction. The environment of the Castle is fantastic: lovely lake, park, hotels and the Thermal bath wich cannot miss from every single hungarian city or town. Morover, this is one Hungary`s biggest thermal complexes and, indeed, the biggest part of the incomings of the town comes from thermal and historical tourism. |
| | House of the composer, Ferenc Erkel(2004) Ferenc Erkel was born in this little town. On this image that I made in 2004 you see the house in wich he was born. Erkel was a very prestigous composer in Hungary. He wrote the best operas in the hungarian music letterature, he set the Hungarian national Anthem to music, furthermore he was the first director of the State Opera House of Budapest. It`s a pity that I cannot show an image of the streets of Gyula, wich are fantastic! Especially the one that goes from the train station from the city centre. One of the cutest in Hungary! |
