I didn't see much of the town of Ras Al Khaimah as I had only come to stay at the resort for the weekend but from what I saw it is a normal city in the UAE - except there were heaps more Mosques than in Dubai! It is well worth coming for a visit though as the beach is lovely and there are lots of touring options from RAK.
