Coming from Takayama, our next destination was Kanazawa, but the trains did not go directly there, so we took a bus the more direct and scenic route. On the way, we stopped at Ogimachi for about 40 minutes. This village is close to the Japan Alps and there was quite a bit of snow still about. This has an open-air museum of traditional A-frame thatched roof farmhouses and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
