Astrid Park, Bruges

We spent Friday night in Brussels and took the train to Bruges Saturday morning. We stayed in the excellent Die Swaene Hotel (see tip).

We:
- also had an amazing 6-course supper at its restaurant, Restaurant Storie (see tip).
- walked around Burg and Markt Squares.
- checked out the Heilig Bloed Basiliek, where there are supposed to be a few drops of Christ's blood.
- took a tourist horse and buggy ride.
- walked around Begijnh, which was home to a 13th century religious community of unmarried or widowed women who were known as begijnen.
- browsed the Dijver flea market.
- took a canal boat tour.
- strolled and played in Astrid Park.
- went to the Bruges Diamond Museum where there was a diamond cutting and polishing demonstration (see tip).
