We weren't really expecting all that much when we booked a long-weekend getaway to Dubrovnik. We had seen a Lonely Planet episode and had heard it was nice, but we were pleasantly suprised by how nice it is here. I don't think anything could have prepared us for this towns beauty. And in my opinion it's on par with Prague, Amsterdam, Florence as one of the premier Europeans towns to visit. It's not a destination for those who like good nightlife, but it's great if you want to island-hop/trek around the adriatic, walk the old town taking in the history and talking with the locals, or doing a day trip Bosnia or Montenegro.

This photo was taking on the airport bus coming into the city. We were suddenly greated by this view! The closer we got, the more it looked like a fairy-tale.
