Dunedin - Pride of the South

Looking towards the city fron the Peninsula

Growing up

Dunedin was a great city to grow up in. The area has a huge peninsula (The Otage Peninsula) branching out from the main city. This is where my mother grew up, with a country lifestyle that seems as far from any city as possible. Due to this I had many family members who still lived here growing up and spent my weekends as a child climbing hills, riding horses, building huts, pottering around in the harbour and many other fun things.

Dunedin also has a decent beach and I spent many a summer there and in the hot salt water pool in St Clair and at the famous Moana pool.
Otago University

School and Nightlife

I went to Concord Primary, Kenmure Intermediate and Otago Girls High School and loved them all. School was so fun because there was so many cool places close to go on camps etc such as skiing, Central Otago, Christchurch lakes and seashore alike.

Dunedin is famous for it's University and people from all over the world come to the city to attend. This is the reason why the city has a great nightlife and you can always find a party. North Dunedin is "Scarfie" central and is covered in old run down huge houses in the form of student flats.
