Paris - The city of Love

Overview

Paris has to be one of the most beautiful cities I have ever visited.

The number of things to see and do is endless and there is a photo oppertunity around every corner.

The buildings, statues, parks, fountains and arcs make you feel like you have gone back through the ages and make you feel a sence of artistic calmness as you stroll around this wonderful old city.

It really is the city of love and I fell for it hard.............

People and places

The people in Paris were surprisingly friendly. A lot of the time people approached us in bars and restaurants to have a chat and most can speak good English. Shopping and direction were no trouble but trying to buy stamps to Australia anouther story!!

We spent the whole time we were there sightseeing and the open top tour bus was a great way to get around the city - not as fast as the metro but we saw loads we would'nt have if we had taken the train.

We will definately have to go back to do all the things we missed out on.

Transport

Coming from England the metro system in Paris was second to none!
2 or 3 minutes was the longest we waited for trains and the system is reasonably easy to use. Tickets to anywhere in the city are around £1 and that's wether you go 1 stop or to the end of the line!

The open-top busses were great also and we got a 2 day pass which took us to all of the sight we wanted to go to.

We walked a lot too and it is easy to get around with lots of pedestrain crossings and walkways.
