I was born and grow up in Kedah during years when orang kampung used to throng Pekan Alor Setar on Saturdays, countless Hindi movie were shown at Empire and mee tonggek was sold at one end of Pekan Rabu .. but hey things changed quite a lot.. last i checked in there was a big screen tv showing EPL football on darker corner of Alor Setar Walk and quite to my amusement there was an aquatic sports complex in my kampung... if it was there sometime ago maybe i could learn to swim... heh heh... The only thing that stays the same is the people -- down to earth, simple kampung folks that greet you from their heart
